Hunting

We are permitted to hunt the Shoshone National Forest for Elk in areas 67, 68, and 69, for Sheep in areas 4 and 9, Deer in area 128, and Moose in area 6. The majority of our focus is on our elk hunts, if you want more information about the other hunts we offer, get in touch with us.

Elk Hunts

Our season begins in September and extends through mid October. Our elk hunts are set for six days at our hunting camp which is located 26 miles into the famous Fitzpatrick Wilderness in the Wind River mountains. The virtually exclusive location of our camp is a big part of our success. Nestled in a very remote area, other hunters are seldom seen due to the location and tough terrain. We have very experienced horses and mules so even the most inexperienced riders can handle them. You can expect to stay at our camp which consists of canvas wall tents, comfortable cots for sleeping, and a wood stove. All you are responsible to bring is your warm sleeping bag and belongings for one week. See our “What to bring” list for more information. Camp includes a full-time cook, camp jack, and as mentioned before, guides who are very familiar with the area.

Archery licenses are available at sporting goods stores or online. Remember, do not purchase an archery license until you have received notification of successful draw results.

Exception: Type 9 tags do not require the purchase of a separate archery license.

It’s not too late!
